Dana Todd

I’m a longtime tech executive with a specific focus in digital product development and digital marketing. Along the way, I’ve founded or co-founded three companies, two nonprofits and a global support group with over 10,000 members on Facebook. I have served in executive roles on three nonprofit boards (one of which served an international trade group), two corporate boards and an academic alumni board, and have worked in committee and volunteer roles as well.

My current venture, Balodana, is a startup marketplace aiming to disrupt the traditional supply chain to USA women clothing buyers. We are “Amazon for made to measure” — all items are made on-demand, precisely to your body measurements, designed and delivered by talented makers worldwide. We launched in early 2019, and are addressing a $1B available market.

What I can bring to a board

My brain is programmed for strategy, it’s one of my innate talents that helps to navigate obstacles. I have deep expertise in digital marketing and websites, which is a valued attribute for most organizations. I’m a collaborative participant, but not afraid to voice an opinion when I think I have a better solution or if I see issues that should be addressed. And most importantly, I have significant experience creating solutions with very limited resources.

What can I get from a board?

I am a big believer in paying it forward, and my jam is helping others discover their passion for technology – particularly women and girls, but not exclusively so. I hope to connect with other likeminded people, and I want to make a difference for individuals and in a measurable larger impact. I also want to learn new things, practice my governance skills, and solve new challenges. If possible, I’d like to work on a Chicago area board so I can broaden my network here – I’m relatively new to the area.
